About
Manchester Kpop Dance began in Autumn 2020 with just 5 members, we managed to teach a whopping 1 dance class before the pandemic hit and gyms/studios were forced to close. Over 6 months' worth of Zoom dance classes later, we now have a huge kpop community and hold regular dance classes in a beautiful studio near Victoria station in central Manchester.

Our Classes & Events
Adult Kpop Dance Classes
In our adult dance classes (18+), you will learn some of your favourite kpop choreographies that you have seen in music videos, dance practices, and live performances. Classes are fortnightly, last 2hrs, and you will learn two new songs at every class (we usually teach the chorus!).
These classes are suitable for complete beginners! We will break down the choreography into easy steps, and practice the choreography at 50% and 75% speed before working our way up to 100%. This way absolutely everybody can keep up!
Junior Kpop Dance Classes
Our junior dance classes are for ages 9-17 yrs and last 1hr, we learn one song (usually the chorus). The classes are suitable for children and teens who have never danced before or those with experience, everyone is welcome! We will usually teach easy to intermediate difficulty songs, and we will occasionally simplify the moves if there are any particularly difficult sections.
Cover Dance Group
Our adult and junior cover dance groups consist of 40+ dancers who take part in learning and recording cover dance videos for our Youtube channel. Auditions for our cover dances open a few times throughout the year and will be posted on our Instagram page. We audition per song, not for the group as a whole, so there is no long term commitment. So don't worry if you miss an audition, there will be more opportunities in future and you can audition multiple times!
To join, keep an eye on our Instagram for when we're starting a new cover, and either attend the specified cover class or send in an audition video within the specified deadline.
Performance Opportunities
We occasionally perform at events or attend dance competitions, to get involved with this please audition for a cover dance first, where you can learn more about these opportunities.
Random Play Dance
We hold outdoor random play dance events in Manchester approximately every 2 months. They are completely free and open to all ages! You don't need to book, just show up on the day. You can request songs on our Instagram or Facebook posts approx 2 weeks before the event.
The only exceptions are our annual ISAC and Kpop Day RPDs which are held indoors, so these require booking and an entrance fee.
Socials
Our socials include photocard trading events, bracelet making, board games, mafia, kpop quizzes, and crafts! Socials are open to absolutely everyone, not just dancers or students, just make sure to book your spot online.
Most of our socials are 18+ yrs, however some (like our pc trading) are open to juniors and adults. Check the booking link each time to find info about the age limit and price.
